This handmade print was originally created in 2017 as something fun and different to what I’ve already made. It ended up becoming one of my most challenging projects. At first, it was designed, carved, and printed with a linoleum block on top of a marble print. Both prints needed to line up, so the negative (white) space on the paper was masked in tape and watercolor masking fluid to be water marbled. Following the water marbling process, the masking fluid was erased and peeled off. Once the print was free from masking fluid and tape, it was printed with a linoleum block or drawn over in brush marker. And finally, the wood added to the prints was selected, cut, drilled, sanded, dyed, and finished by me. The print measures to be 8 x 10 and comes to 9 x 12 inches with the wood.
