About Me & My History

I'm Jessica, and I’m a lifelong artist and writer. I found mysticism later in my life at critical moments of adversity, which helped me to create a source of strength and support for myself.

In 2013, I began using astrology and tarot as self help tools for inner exploration and found another great passion of mine. Over the years, my interests have expanded into philosophy, psychology, history, mythology, occultism, and all things mystical.

However, it wasn’t always this way. I am a skeptic at heart and always have been. Since my childhood, I questioned everything and needed to see to believe. I disconnected myself from any greater meanings that didn't have to do with science, evidence, or proof.

Throughout my life, I’ve retained a strong interest in dreams, nature, astronomy, and philosophy. The thread that wove this all together were those hardships that shifted and shaped me into seeking more, thinking for myself, and listening to my Self instead of everyone else.

By doing this, I created a new connection to myself, allies, friends, teachers, and the collective. It shifted and transformed my perspective, allowing me to see and understand from a more meaningful vantage point. My art and writing allow me to share some of that perspective, but through service in the mystical subjects that I've dedicated concentrated study to, it allows me to share different perspectives in a more interactive way by creating meaningful connections with others. Through that interaction, we can help, learn from, and grow with each other.

And while I don't like to use labels, I title myself as a mystic. I am not a psychic, fortune teller, medium, or affiliated with anything. I am an occultist, a diviner, an astrologer, and a tarot reader. I am an artful aid who strives to create aidful art. I am creative and intuitive. I am a free thinker and dreamer. I am a curious observer and seeker. I am a storyteller and poet. I am both student and teacher, listener and speaker.

And most importantly, I’m just a human, like you and equal to you.

About Jupiter Soul

Jupiter Soul was a seed that was planted by me in 2016 to create a passion project that could integrate meaningful work and my art experiments. In astrology, Jupiter is the planet of benevolence, generosity, inclusion, abundance, expansion, wisdom, spirituality, & gratitude.

I tended to this growing seed until I had enough of an inventory of artwork in 2019 to display to the public market. In 2020, I expanded Jupiter Soul to include tarot and astrology services, integrating my other passions and skills into the solo business I’ve cultivated. As I’ve grown, so has Jupiter Soul.

I am in the service of helping people help themselves, providing some tools needed to help others feel understood, seen, and heard within a secure container. I am not in the service of preaching, convincing, fixing, or rescuing of any kind. There is only so much I can do without a collaborative effort. I don't hold the answers and solutions to your life, only you do — with your own awareness, perspective, & inner knowing.

With the tools that have helped me, my task is to illuminate the parts of you that are asking for help. Your task is to be dedicated and motivated to consistently show up for yourself, which takes personal investment, self awareness, patience, and surrender. Our growth is a commitment to the life long process of nourishing our whole Self through all of our cycles: decay, roots, blooms, fruits, harvest, decay, and cycles again.

The service aspect of Jupiter Soul is a collaborative effort between myself & another where we co-create a space of: embracing our differences • inclusion • respect • equality • trust • honesty • privacy • support • compassion • intuition • critical thinking • non-judgment • curiosity • open-mindedness

Tarot

The origin of tarot in recorded history is linked to 15th century Italy, where it began as a deck of playing cards used by the royals called tarocchi. It spread across Europe over the centuries, evolved, and by the late 19th century, was used by occultists for ritual practices and the modern tarot that we know today was born. Divination practices and mythology reveal a lot about an era of time and its culture through the archetypal storytelling. An arche (first) type (model/kind) is a universal and timeless reoccurring pattern, theme, or principle.

In modern times, each tarot reader, or cardomancer, gets to pick their method of storytelling through their own perspective, study, and way of practicing. Yet we are all living out the stories of our lives as individuals with and without the cards. Each person has a unique perspective, as the stories and narratives that we tell ourselves play a large role in the quality of our lives, who we are, and the choices we make. Tarot reveals our inner narratives or stories into archetypal images, similar to dreams. Instead of being in our head, its put into a language of images that we mediate. In each reading, the cards weave together a story in which I co-create with others as we explore their perspective and inner narrative.

Tarot is a tool that acts as a narrative art form. It helps bring unity and dialogue with the unseen and unspoken parts of ourselves, stimulating thought and reflection, like a mirror, our current situations, inner narratives, influences, challenges, strengths, and intuition. Tarot can help us deepen our understanding and self awareness, and can empower us by providing clarity and certainty. And like wine, tarot and oracle readings energetically ferment over time, as the story and chapters of our lives fully unfold and make sense in retrospect.

Astrology

Astrology is an ancient language rooted in astronomy using symbolism, philosophy, mythology, and psychology. Throughout history astrology has been used for predictions, banned, declined, revived, evolved, distorted, and rejected. Different cultures around the world have assigned their own meaning to the stars, such as the Mayan, Chinese, and Vedic astrology systems, to name a few.

The astrological wheel chart is a mathematically calculated snapshot of a 360° two-dimensional geocentric map of a moment in the sky, and the geometric patterns or dance between the celestial bodies create a unique, symbolic imprint for that moment. It is like an astrological fingerprint of a moment in time, measured in geocentric astronomy and geometry. The moment of each chart holds potential that is promised to unfold over time. Astrology is not good or bad, it is neutral and nuanced.

Astrology is essentially the study of cyclical time, patterns, and its effect on us. It is a time honoring exercise. It can be described as a comprehensive language, tool, or code that explains our underlying reality through the interaction between the cosmos and our experiences on earth. And whether we are aware of it or not, everyone is living out and has the knowledge of their own chart. Astrologers bring it out using the archetypal meanings of planets, asteroids, fixed stars, mathematical points, and how they interact with each other, whether it be a person, location, or event in time lived out on Earth.

As an astrologer, I use each chart to look at strengths, challenges, cycles, and chapters of each individual. Past, present, and future blend into one when looking at the unique patterns in each chart and which areas of life are being highlighted as we spiral in and out of different phases of life. I work with Western tropical astrology, using ancient and modern techniques, such as whole sign houses, outer planets, asteroids, lunar nodes, and a variety of timing techniques.
